Black Beans and Smoked Turkey

Today's Daily Plate was a spicy dish of black beans and smoked turkey breast, with vegetables, served over cornbread. The beans were cooked with celery, onions, fresh tomatoes, chives and curry powder.


As a side dish, I made sesame and chive roasted potatoes. The beans came out significantly more spicy than I anticipated, but we're cool, er, hot with that! Sadly, the beans came out just a bit hard. I used the pressure cooker and should have given them a bit more time. Still, not a bad effort for a first time ever recipe.
